Man Charged With Impersonating Police Officer
A Lawrenceburg man was charged with impersonating a police officer after he allegedly telephoned an assault victim from the back of a police car Saturday.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were dispatched to 1210 Marion Drive shortly before 12:30 Saturday morning to intervene in a domestic altercation that involved juveniles. In the wake of an initial investigation, Seth Thomas Clark, 29, of 1829 Fall River Road, was placed under arrest, handcuffed, and put into the rear of a police car.
The arresting officer reports that the in-car video camera was trained on Clark, with the dome lights and microphone activated. While the officer was obtaining final information from the victims, he reports that Clark gained access to his cell phone and placed a call inside the residence, where the assault had taken place. Clark, the officer reports, attempted to make contact with one of the assault victims, identifying himself as a police officer.
Clark, who had been placed under arrest on charges of assault, domestic assault, and four counts of reckless endangerment, was additionally charged with the crime of impersonating a police officer. He is slated to answer the charges through Lawrence County General Sessions Court on August 3.
